The Adult Migrant English Program teaches functional English language and numeracy skills to new migrants and humanitarian entrants. We deliver this program in four regions across Australia in partnership with Navitas English.
More than 54% of students are from Thailand, China and Syria.
Since January 2019, 419 students studied with us for 159,000 hours. For these students, they learn more than just the language, they learn about life in Australia and how to find work in a new country.
Each region has a cultural committee that arrange activities specifically tailored to their region, and the student cohort.
By engaging students through activities, there has been a greater consistency in attendance. Specific activities have included: excursions, guest speakers from Centrelink and Surf Life Saving, arts and crafts, cooking, relaxation routines and social events.
